This block is called Happy Happy but I was not happy stitching it. The tiny circles were a real challenge. I would sew a stitch then lift my pressure foot and stitch another stitch. Click on the picture and see what a great job I really did do on my button hole stitches. 
Now this block is called Simple Simon. I guess because it was simple to make
I love both your blocks. Yep I do the same with circles and big curves. They look wonderful.
