NIAGARA FALLS USA

 My son Eric told us he was taking us on a mystery trip, The surprise was Niagara Falls USA.

 We went there on our honey moon in 1953 but only were on the Canada side.

  The boat Maid of Mist. I ask the man how many go on this in a day he said some times 400 and some times 18,000. There were 4 boats running the day we were there.

  Closer and closer we were getting look at all the birds.

 It was a beautiful day and what a great time we had.

 Cave of the winds at the bottom of the falls, you walk in ankle deep water with special shoes on.
In November they take down the walk way and re build it in May.

  A great view  of American Falls and Luna Island and Horseshoe Falls.

  The water is so calm here.

Now  I met these men at Tropical Manor at Daytona Beach so I just had to sit down and have a chat
with them.

CANNING THESE TOMATOES

 So far I have canned 33 pt 1 qt of tomato juice. and 11 qt 1 pt of chunk  tomatoes for chili.' My grandson , Jared from  N.C. just phoned and said he made  Chili from my tomatoes and red kidney beans and hamburger his mom gave him. He was so thrilled and thanked me that I had given him some home  canned things

Seeds from Italy

 My son was in Italy and saw these tomatoes on salad bar and took the seeds out of them and put on napkin and brought home to USA for his dad to plant and look what  developed from a vinegar tomato from Italy.

 We have 94 tomato plants and I am busy canning juice and whole tomatoes. They took for ever to get ripe
 with all the cold weather we have had and now all the rain we have found some that  have  black spots in them.

 This is the finished mini quilt.

 Close up of the tinny blocks put together. I plan to quilt it and make a pillow top.

AUGUST & PRODUCE

We have the nicest patch of green beans we have every grown. I have canned 36 pt.34 qt. for my self and 28 qt for my daughter and given away  to my friend who canned 14 qt. plus given to neighbors and friends/ I also canned 51 pt of yellow beans.   Froze 106 cups of sliced carrots. Next will be Red Beets, and if the 94 tomato plants ever get red I will be happy.Then I can start stitching again.
