Rail Fences on Manitoulin Island, Canada

These are the fences on all the roads on the Island. I think because the ground is all rock they can not put posts in to put up a wire fence. Every fence is made of rail fences like our grandparents use to put up years ago.

Manitoulin Island, Canada

We spent 1week on this Island the Largest freshwater island in the world. It is in Lake Huron. This is a 17 inch bass my son Clark got in front of our cottage.

This is a 24 inch trout or salmon we are not sure what kind of fish. The flesh was pink. We had bass and this fish for dinner it was great. Donna his girl friend fried them with egg and corn meal only with a lid on skillet and it tasted wonderful. I guess it was the fresh water of South Bay Lake. We also enjoyed 2 perch dinners from fish he caught.

50 year Old Geranium

This geranium my mother's friend Mrs. Heckman gave this to me and said  keep  it in the sun and  it will never quit blooming. It is a single bloom almost like a daisy.  I am so proud of it and have kept it in her memory.I was a just a new bride when she gave it to me.

It is hard to start a slip from, some times break it off and use  Take Root powder and then some times you have to lay a piece of the vine in dirt and it will sprout. It has to be in a South or West window in Winter.
